The story of Ego Divided began in 2005, when guitarists Massimo Masi and Alberto Zimone founded the band with the initial goal of reinterpreting their favorite cover songs. Over the years, the group evolved, experimenting with original compositions and gradually shaping its own identity. A pivotal moment arrived in 2012 with the addition of charismatic vocalist Mauro Tagliavia, whose deep and engaging lyrics enriched the band’s sound.
In 2014, the band started recording its first album, but the sudden departure of both the bassist and drummer abruptly halted the project. Only two tracks, Source and Fearless Reason, were completed and released online. Despite the setback, the band’s determination led to a renewed lineup in 2018, with Elio Lao on drums and Alessio Lopes on bass. This new energy allowed Ego Divided to complete and release their debut album in 2024, available on all major streaming platforms.
Later in 2024, drummer Elio Lao left the band. Phil Spinelli (drummer of Tol Morwen) was brought in to contribute to the new recordings, which culminated in May 2025 with the release of the singles Totally Blind, Reflections, and the third single Fury of Hatred.
Following the recording of Reflections, Ego Divided parted ways with guitarist Alberto Zimone and welcomed two new members: drummer Manfredi Mansueto (from State of Neptune), who continued the recording work initially started with Phil Spinelli, and guitarist Ermanno Siino, who stepped in to complete the remaining sessions.
